Kairo Mitchell and Devante Rodney fired Rochdale to a 2-0 win on an emotional day for hosts Aldershot.
Felt Dale controlled large parts of Saturday’s pre-season win over Carlisle United.
His goal, plus a stunning free-kick from Aaron Henry, helped Dale to a 2-1 win over the Cumbrians at the Crown Oil Arena.
The striker was pleased with the performance. But states there is still work to do.

“I think we controlled the game for large parts. It was good run out for the boys. There are a lot of new faces but it was a good opportunity to get to grips with a lot of new things.

Joseph Ajose pulled one back for Maidenhead on 61 minutes. After team-mate James Golding had earlier seen an effort tipped onto the post by David Robson.
Rochdale also hit the woodwork in the second half through Connor McBride.
